At Jindalee Massage we can incorporate sports massage therapy as part of our overall remedial massage treatment. Sports massage is beneficial to help prepare for competition, both physically and psychologically, and to assist in recovery from training and competition.
Sports massage is also suited to anyone that simply loves to train! Whether it be at the gym, hiking, CrossFit, dancing, cycling, running, kitesurfing, golfing ....whatever is YOUR sport.
Pro tip: Both deep tissue massage and myofascial release techniques are extremely beneficial for sportspeople. These techniques will help to lengthen and condition your muscles, and assist to improve your postural alignment for optional functional movement.
Book in for remedial treatment and let your therapist know you want to focus on sports massage techniques.
Ideally book a sports massage between four to seven days before your event. This will ensure your body will recover from any massage soreness before the event and means your therapist can provide deeper massage in order to relieve tension from pre-match training.
Or, if you want to book in closer to the event, we can keep the focus on gently loosening up tense muscles and promoting blood flow so that your muscles are prepared without having gameday soreness.
Sports massages are most effective 24 hours after your event. Any soreness will have subsided allowing your therapist to better work into the deeper layers of your muscles to get them loose and supple again.
